Overview

Lazer Ray Guppies earned their name because of the vibrantly colored streak that runs through the top half of their bodies while the lower half remains a silvery blue. These slender specimen of the Fancy Guppy variety are highly favored for desktop aquariums. Smaller than their female counterparts, the males boast a brighter and more vivid coloration making them highly sought after.

A smaller fish (1 ¾” at maturity), they are at home in tank sizes of 10 or more gallons and should be in a guppies-only tank to protect their fins and tails from other fish. Lazer Ray Guppies are peaceful, hardy and highly energetic, making them an easy specimen for even beginner aquarium enthusiasts.

Lazer Ray Guppies are live bearing fish and fairly easy to breed when provided with a covering of floating plants and a breeding box to protect the fry from adults. The fry should be fed brine shrimp, micro food, and pulverized flakes. For adults, algae-based flake food, along with brine shrimp and freeze-dried bloodworms, will provide them the necessary nutrition they need.
