Overview

*Multifunctional tool for feeding corals, aquarium fish & MORE
*Dispense any liquid food, aquarium treatments or coral glue
*Maintain aquarium aesthetics by siphoning out small debris

Target-feed corals, filter-feeders, and timid fish with greater ease and comfort. Two Little Fishies Julian's Thing is a clever, high-quality syringe designed to dispense liquid invertebrate feeds, treatments, apply glue and so much more! Patent-pending design features a syringe with finger and thumb holes for comfortable operation while keeping your other hand free for precise placement of the tip. Simple piston action of the syringe lets you control the intake and discharge of fluids.

Julian's Thing is perfect for feeding corals, anemones, zooanthids and for feeding seahorses and other timid or slow-moving fishes. Use Julian's Thing to apply solutions onto Aiptaisia and manjano anemones. Dispense coral adhesives to spot-weld corals in place. Julian's Thing is also a great tool for siphoning out small things or blowing jets to clean substrate or live rock crevices. Cut tip to dispense larger foods. Replace tip after dispensing adhesives. Fully assembled unit with included extension measures 54" long.

Operating Instructions

Note: About 1/2 of all people who see Julian's Thing for the first time assume that items to dispense should be loaded into the syringe and pumped from there into the aquarium. If you assumed that was the case, you are in good company of other intelligent people but you are nevertheless WRONG. The operation of Julian's Thing is accomplished by displacement of the medium (air or water) within the pipes. The piston in the syringe provides the means of controlling the intake or discharge of fluid at the tip. Bottom line is that you can take in and discharge fluids only at the tip.

Important! Do not leave Julian's Thing in a hot car or a location where it may be exposed to extreme heat. High temperatures can warp or melt the plastic parts!

Features
The finger holes on the sides and the thumb hole on the piston give you a comfortable way to hold and control the syringe, freeing your other hand to direct the tip position. The flexible hose is made of a special material that will not kink, so it maintains steady fluid displacement. The orifice at the tip can be cut to larger sizes to allow dispensing of large foods. The tip comes with a fine hole that is ideal for liquid invertebrate foods and small plankton and for administering solutions over Aiptaisia and manjano anemones. Spare tips are available so you can create a set with different size openings.

Preparing Julian's Thing
Simply assemble according to the photo on included Operating Instructions. You can use the typical single pipe body format or use the additional two pipes and a connector to form an extended device for deep aquariums.

NOTE: The connection between the Tip and the Hose Adaptor on the opposite end is made with the Connector. To maintain the pressure within the pipe for proper operation of the syringe, these connections must be tight. Otherwise air escapes and the full volume of displacement cannot be achieved. The smaller diameter Extension Pipe is designed to fit INSIDE the two larger diameter Body Pipes so that you can have a rigid connection when two Body Pipes are joined with a Connector. To make a telescoping device for deep aquariums that requires more length than two Body Pipes, it may be necessary to use a small amount of silicone rubber sealant to form a seal with the smaller diameter pipe to prevent pressure loss.

Maintenance
These parts are engineered to slip-fit together for easy disassembly. This feature makes it convenient to rinse and clean after each use. Warm soapy water is all that is required. Be sure to thoroughly rinse out the soap of course. Do Not boil or insert parts in hot water!

Be careful not to lose the Anti-Backflow Valve that prevents water, food, etc from flowing into the pipe. The Valve may be removed for applications where Julian's Thing is used completely submerged under water while scuba diving, for instance), or for using the device to flush the substrate with jets of water.

The syringe is also easy to disassemble so that the O-Ring on the plunger can be lubricated or replaced. Use only a light silicon lubricant (NOT silicon sealant!) to maintain the easy movement of the plunger. To open the plunger, simply rotate the white Cap counterclockwise.
