Overview

Introducing our latest pack of brilliantly colorful, friendly Platies! The "RONA" pack contains a fun selection of glowing Platy fish that will add beauty and excitement to any freshwater community aquarium. The RONA pack features (3) each of these varieties of Platy (Xiphophorus maculatus) - Painted or Calico Platy, Red Platy, Rainbow Platy, and Pineapple Platy. Through selective breeding, these Platies offer a wide range of brilliant color and fin variations (the Rainbow Platy is a great example of an atypical color variation). The (4) varieties of plant-safe Platy selected for this pack compliment each other with their red and gold color variations and peaceful personalities. They would do well in a densely planted freshwater community aquarium with other peaceful fish.

Platy are livebearing fish, capable of reproducing at three to four months of age. The male is smaller and more brightly colored than the female, and can be distinguished by his modified anal fin or gonopodium. The fry will most often reach maturity in a community aquarium.

The platy is an omnivore that will eat commercially prepared flaked foods and algae, as well as freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, and brine shrimp.
