Overview
Our own Coral Frag 3 Pack, Houdini Edition (Various sp.), offers hobbyists a way to enhance their reef aquarium with a collection of premium coral frag specimens. Adding a touch of magic with their visually interesting and beautiful looks, they have an easy care level even though they are semi-aggressive.
Included in this premium 3-pack are:
Orange Stripe Glove polyp
The Orange Stripe Glove polyp Clavularia sp. will add immediate interest and color to your home aquarium. A multi-colored specimen, its most distinctive quality are the orange tips displaying from the middle to the tip of its feathery branches. This color contrasts with a neon green center that makes a spectacular display when open. This coral enjoys moderate lighting so should be placed in the top to middle level of your home aquarium with a medium waterflow and away from other coral.
Houdini Colony Polyp rock
The Houdini Colony Polyp Zoanthus gigantus rock will contain this multi-colored encrusting coral with plump discs that display horizontally. Each disc is multi-tentacled, making it look like a bouquet of flowers that have large centers and small petals. Sure to be a crowd pleaser, this coral enjoys moderate lighting so should be placed in the top to middle level of a home aquarium with medium waterflow away from other coral.
Sinularia Finger Leather Coral frag
The Sinularia Finger Leather Coral Sinularia sp., will delight even advanced aquarists with its branching formation that displays purple polyps on its neon green ‘fingers’. It enjoys moderate to high lighting and a medium to strong waterflow away from other coral at any level in the aquarium.
The ideal environment for these aquacultured coral frags is an established reef aquarium with coral friendly fish and invertebrates. Water temperatures should be maintained at 72°-78° F, pH levels of 8.1-8.4, a dKH level of between 8-12, and salinity within the range of 1.022-1.025. They require the addition of supplemental calcium, strontium, magnesium, iodine, and other trace elements to the water. Aquacultured corals reduce the impact of natural collection, and because they are grown in captivity, are accustomed to a home aquarium.
The symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within the coral’s bodies provide the majority of their nutritional requirements from the algae's light driven process of photosynthesis but will benefit from the addition of foods designed for corals and invertebrates.
